Bishop Ronald C. Hill, Sr.
The youngest of four children, Ronald C. Hill was raised in the small town of Pittsburg, Texas. At eight years old, he accepted Jesus Christ into his life. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Navy and completed two tours of duty in Vietnam.
Honorably discharged in 1967, he moved to Los Angeles, California, where he worked in the aircraft industry before accepting a position with the Southern California Transit District.
In 1972, Bishop Hill rededicated his life to God. Shortly thereafter, he sensed the Lord calling him to leave his job and enter full-time ministry.
From 1973 to 1980, Bishop Hill also served as an evangelist and chaplain with the Los Angeles County Probation Department.
In November 1981, the Lord led him to establish Love & Unity Christian Fellowship. What began with Bishop Hill, Osie, their young children, and five members grew into a fellowship of more than 3,500 members, serving from the heart of Compton, California.
Bishop Hill has consistently led Love & Unity to see evangelism as a calling beyond the church building. In pursuit of reaching the community for Christ, the congregation has knocked on the door of every home in the city of Compton at least three times.
